Lakeland Hospice History
Lakeland Hospice & Home Care is a non-profit, community-based healthcare organization that has been serving West Central Minnesota since 1983. We currently serve sixteen counties covering over 11,000 square miles.
Our Hospice program began in 1983, and has evolved from a small volunteer-run organization to a Medicare certified Hospice. Our mission is to provide compassionate, emotional, spiritual and quality health care to each patient, promoting independence, comfort, and dignity in all stages of life’s journey. We help give families choices about what types of they want most at the end of life. We offer them choices about what types of care and support they wish to receive and where they wish to receive it; control of pain and other symptoms so they can spend each day in comfort and enjoy quality time with friends and loved ones; spiritual and emotional support that helps them and their families address difficulties, fears, and issues that arises as the end of life draws nears.
The Lakeland Hospice Foundation will ensure that quality end-of-life care, volunteer support, grief support services, and education are available to everyone who needs it, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
